Here is a project I have been working on for some time now. A few years ago a friend gave me a small box with about 150+ old film negatives dating from the early 1900s to the mid 1920s. The negatives showed images of the Susquehanna Coal Company operations in Nanticoke, PA, including the No. 7 and No. 5 breakers, boiler house, coal cars, locomotives, pole yard and other aspects and buildings of Susquehanna Coal Company operations in Nanticoke. There were also several negatives depicting life in the community of Nanticoke.
Slowly I’ve been scanning these negatives in, editing-restoring the scanned images, researching the subject matter of the photos and the suspected photographer, searching old newspapers for information and slowly writing the text of the book. Well, things have been progressing nicely and hopefully at some point in 2019 I will be ready to publish a book featuring these wonderful old historical images.
Shown here are just a few of those wonderful old photos and a draft of the book cover to peak your curiosity. I’ll post more in the future to the progress I am making on the project.
